Activities In Arlington

December 22nd, 2009 Connor Smith No comments

Did you know that Arlington Texas is conveniently located between Dallas and Fort Worth Texas and has a lot to offer! The city has over 4,000 acres of park land, 5 recreation centers, 49 tennis courts, 6 swimming pools, 44 miles of park trail,

These are some of my favorite sights and sounds in Arlington.
1. Dallas Cowboys stadium is extremely impressive, it seats 80,000 comfortably and can be increased to 110,000 people. The stadium is fully enclosed with a retractile roof and can be used for many different venues. You can get a tour of the stadium which takes about an hour and well worth it!

2. There is Six Flags over Texas which is fun for the entire family! If you haven’t ever been before to a Six Flags then this is the time to go and try one out! With tons of exhilarating rides for adults and kids your sure to have a great day!

3. The Country Peddler Show comes to Arlington Convention Center in March, August and November every year. People from all around converge to sell just about anything you can imagine. Among the menagerie of goodies to be found are stained glass, stepping stones, homemade jelly, specialty clothing, candles, handmade quilts … and too much more to list!

4. Daired’s Salon & Spa Pangea is the only facility in the DFW area to offer a hair salon, full service day spa, caf, and conference center … all under one roof! Their spa combines holistic wellness, fitness, and nutrition services which compliment the traditional services you would expect to find at other spas. The hair salon offers expert stylists with training in hair color, unique and traditional hair styling techniques, and makeup advice. The caf employs a personal chef who prepares each menu item fresh daily.

5. Alley Cats a great place to take the family! You’ll find 24 lanes of bowling, a rock climbing wall, laser tag, billiards and a video game room with over 100 games! Our nephew has his birthday party there and everyone had a blast, but this place isn’t only for kids. They also offer special pricing for corporate events and have a full catered menu and full bar. I really like the place because it’s smoke free so you don’t have to stand around inhaling second hand smoke!

Arlington Texas has something for everyone! So come and enjoy yourself.

If you’re planning on a stay in Arlington then why not save yourself some money and time buy going to Arlington Cheap Hotels. There’s no point in spending more money than necessary that’s the great thing about Arlington Hotels!

Porsche 977 Carrera

December 16th, 2009 Colin Jones No comments

A new Porsche 911 is always intriguing because it’s exciting to see how after more than 40 years of improvement the Porsche team still manages to bring changes and improvements to this iconic exemplar.

The new 997 combines the silky contemporary appearance of the 996 series with the popular retro styling of the older 911’s. The front end is completed with round lights and separate parking/fog/indicator lights. This modification, combined with wider hips resembles the last of the air-cooled 911’s, the 993. Other changes in the body shell are the new door handles, wing mirrors and the trendy cut of the rear wings into the bumper/lights.

Even if the 997 looks a lot like the previous model, the 996, the new car is in point of fact 38mm wider which makes for a more forceful appearance. With each new model brought out, Porsche has aimed to lessen the drag co-efficient helping the 911 slide through the air more effectively thus aiding performance. The same thing has been achieved with the new car, and if we compare the 993 Cd of 0.34 to the 997`s 0.28, we can perceive how far the aerodynamic game has progressed. The latest body shell and rear wing combine with new under body paneling to also offer increased levels of down force for this latest generation of Porsche’s best.

The latest Porsche model has the best handling 911 ever. Improving a car’s rigidity helps ensure that the suspension can work more effectively and while not making such a quantum leap as the team did with the 996, Porsche enhanced torsional rigidity by 8% and added as much as 40% more strength.

For their new model car, Porsche sought to enhance crash safety provisions so they added two new air bags, which are situated in the side of each front seat back-rest and are calculated to protect the thorax. They also kept the previous two front and two side airbags, which means that now there are six air bags in total. For the same reason, that is crash safety, the reinforced body shell boasts further protection such as a more extensive use of super high strength steel.

The most recent model is also 50 kg heavier than the 996. The reason is that current crash safety regulations kind of force vehicle manufacturers to produce new cars of increased weight, despite the widespread use of a large range of weight saving measures, such as an aluminum bonnet.

Aside from the crash safety advancements, much of the increased weight can be attributed to the higher standard specifications of the new cars. The power to weight ratio is similar with the latest car offering 233 bhp per tonne against it’s predecessors 238 but the new model’s improved aerodynamics must help it achieve Porsche’s claimed performance figures, which are identical to those of the 996.

Speak and Understand The Italian Language

December 14th, 2009 Robertson Kunz No comments

The descendent of Latin, the language spoken in the Roman empire, Italian is now spoken by more than 60 million people. Unlike its ancestor, however, Italian has grammar that is considered much easier to learn.

You may be interested in learning Italian for a variety of reasons. Perhaps you are going on a vacation to Italy or intend to live there. Maybe you have Italian ancestry or plan on getting a job that involves work with Italians. Whatever the reason may be, learning Italian can be a very rewarding experience.

One factor that may help speed up your studies of Italian is if you already have knowledge of another romance language like Spanish or French. Linguists consider these languages to be very similar and if you know one, you will find that you already know much of the vocabulary and grammar.

For English speakers, Italian is often remarked to have a “pleasing” sound to it, most likely due to its great use of vowels and especially its use of vowels at the end of words. Unfortunately, this stress of vowels also means that listening to Italian seems like an incomprehensible stream to most English-speaking Italian language learners just beginning their studies.

Tricky Italian points for English speakers include determining gender for nouns since words are either of the masculine gender or of the feminine gender. Additionally, verbs are conjugated with very different forms depending on the subject of the sentence.

However, comforting points include the fact that Italian word order is very similar to word order in English. Italian is also a subject-verb-object language like English so English speakers will find it very easy to begin creating new sentences in Italian.

Due to the large number of Italian speakers and Italian’s popularity as a foreign language, there is a wide variety of language textbooks and programs for learners to choose from. Depending on your ultimate language goals for Italian, you may want to choose from a quick audio program before your vacation or a textbook series to take you to fluency.

Before you begin learning Italian, you should remember to sit down and make a serious commitment to learning the language. It can be a tough process but if you stick to it, you will be greatly rewarded. On the other hand, don’t just simply do grammar exercises and read textbooks, you should also enjoy yourself in Italian, too! Watch an Italian film or buy an Italian language CD. You will find that these activities can be some of the most rewarding when learning Italian.

The Scooters of Your Youth

December 13th, 2009 Owen Jones No comments

The Razor A scooter … What does that expression make you think about? If you have children, I’m certain that you’re already aware of the Razor A scooter series, but they weren’t about when we were kids. However, the concept was, although I forget the marques from my youth.

I adored my two-wheeled, kick-powered scooter when I was young. Mum and Dad had their car, my older brothers had their bicycles and I had my scooter. It didn’t go fast, but then, I didn’t go far either, but it was a vehicle, of sorts and it gave that feeling of freedom. I had my wheels and I was on the move!

Well, the modern equivalent of that scooter is the Razor A scooter series. And they really are modern too! They are a long chalk from the simple scooters of yesteryear. The Razor A scooter series was brought out in the year 2000 and is sturdy, log-lasting, collapsible and as safe as you can get.

The Razor A scooter series is sold in several guises to accommodate different age groups, requirements and pockets. For example, the Razor A scooter is intended for children of six years and older, while the Razor A2 scooter, the Razor A3 scooter and the Razor Pro scooter are meant for older, heavier, more demanding and more skilful riders. With prices beginning at around $25 none of them can be considered over-priced.

The Razor A scooter series is made from aircraft-grade light aluminium and weighs in at only six pounds. That’s light enough for any small child to be able to carry, if required, without risk of injury. It is also collapsible, which means that it is easy to carry under your arm, in the trunk of your car or on the bus. Storage is a cinch too.

The Razor A scooter series is height-adjustable too in that the handlebars can be raised as your child grows up or if an older sibling wants a go. It also has a formidable braking system, which is obviously very important as these scooters will easily reach speeds of five or six mph on the flat and much more on a slope. Going down, that is.

The Razor A scooter range also has lesser and greater stable companions. The Razor Kiddie Kick is meant for children younger than six and has a third wheel for greater stability, although it is just as strong and long-lasting as the Razor A scooter series. The Razor A scooter series is intended for ‘young-minded’ people from the age of six. I say ‘young-minded’ because it is quite the fashion now, to put one in the car and scooter the last mile or two into work or college. That mile or two every day will save you gas and give you extra exercise over a prolonged period of time. After all, it all adds up, doesn’t it?

Then, for those who require a bit more, there are the Razor E100(S), Razor E200(S) and the Razor E300(S), which are electrically powered scooters. The (S) means that they have a seat attached.

So, why not introduce your kid to the concept of mobility with a Razor A scooter? Give your child the chance to look back on his or her younger years in 20-30 years time and remember rushing about at three-five mph on a Razor A scooter.

Do you have great memories of your chilhood scooter? The Razor A scooter is the modern equivilent. Come visit our webweb site at http://razorascooter.com and find out more.

A stone throw away from Arlington Texas is Dallas Texas and it’s another fun southern city. It has a lot of things to do to keep you entertained and the good news is there free stuff too.

A Nation Remembers JFK

Dallas pays homage to one of its darkest times, when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated during his 1963 visit. Designed by Kennedy family friend, Philip Johnson, the John F. Kennedy Memorial is an open-roofed, concrete walled monument symbolic of an open tomb. It is not unusual to find flowers and notes placed here. Nearby, the infamous School Book Depository and Grassy Knoll have changed little since that devastating day in our Nation’s history.
Downtown, Main and Houston Streets

Sports Connection

With teams in every major sports league, Dallas loves its hometown sports, and many Dallas Cowboys football, Texas Rangers baseball, Dallas Mavericks basketball, Dallas Stars hockey and Dallas Burn soccer games are televised. So cheer on your winning team at home, hotel or at one of Dallas’ many Sports Bars.
